At the entrance to the Peak District you see, on the bigger roads, a millstone lying on a block. This is the logo of the National Park.
This comes from the fact that some stones in the Peak were good for making millstones of it. In some areas, like for example Stanage Edge, you can still find millstones that have been left there.
