On the fish market in the old town there is this fountain from 1982, which consists of a flat fish from whose mouth water is running into a stone basin. In summer this fountain is never alone as it is quite popular with children. The people have become accustomed to the peculiar shape of the "Stilted Fish", today it is one of the sights of Speyer in its own right.
