Penzance is the most southwestern town in Cornwall, and therefore the whole of England. It is an important transport hub, since the railway line from London ends here, and it is the starting point for flights and sailings to the Scilly Islands.
There is a long seafront with view of St. Michael's Mount, but also a High Street with lots of shopping opportunities.
The town is immortalised in the comic opera "The Pirates of Penzance" by Gilbert and Sullivan.
